Granola for Breakfast

.....or snack.

Last week I purchased some yummy Acai Berry Sorbet at Gateway Market and decided I wanted to garnish it with granola and sliced bananas. Being that I make my own granola I thought I better get baking.

As a child I remember my father baking this granola and mind you it was always in the evening. (I do the same.) I would want to have some right out of the oven when it was still warm.

Original Recipe (not yet adapted by me, but is delicious this way as well as the way I make it.)
8 Cups of Oatmeal
2 Cups Wheat Germ
3/4 C Brown Sugar
3/4 C Honey
1 C Vegetable Oil
3 1/2 Tbsp Vanilla

Leslie's Recipe
7 Cups of Oatmeal
2 Cups of Puffins Cereal (Original or Cinnamon)
2 Cups of Wheat Germ
1/4 C Dark Brown Sugar
3/4 C Honey
1/2 Cup of Canola Oil
1/2 Cup of Coconut Oil
31/2 teaspoons of Vanilla

(you may also add any other types of cereals, grains, or nuts depending on what you desire or have in the pantry)

Bake granola on a jelly role pan (or any other pan with sides) in a 250 degree oven for 1 hour stirring every 15 min.

ENJOY!!

Your granola is delish. I love the wheat germ. I eat it alone..haha but I do cut out a bit of the sugar and its sooo good when cooked in coconut oil!
