Valentine Swap
Another year has come and gone that I participated in the Free People Valentine Swap. This will be the 3rd year as well as the best! I had a fantastic swap partner, we exchanged emails several times, got to know each other a little, as well as found out that her roommate was trading Valentines with another friend of mine!

So this is what I made:

A broach made out of recycled magazine pages

I block printed the card with the saying, "you make the cake!", and this is how I packaged the broach in a cellophane bag and some pink crinkle stuffing.

Then to finish it off I sent a cake t-shirt along as well to top off the cake theme.

Travel Swap
I am finally finished with my craft project that I created for the Free People Travel Swap. It took me weeks to make a final decision on what I was gonna make. I went back and forth with all sorts of ideas. Some of my ideas I still want to make, maybe for myself. What I ended up creating was an altered book with a map of the U.S. that you could ad push pins into to show destinations you've gone.
One of my good co-workers that I love to bounce ideas of off helped me come up with the idea and also the quote that I added to the map. "You can travel coast to coast... but home is what you love the most."
I also added some more embellishments. Stickers saying "Travel", and "Home", also some tags hanging off a string.

The back of the book I printed off some mini post cards from Iowa and also Virginia the location me and my swap partners are from and did a little collage with them.
I had great fun creating this little book. I think I might had to make one for myself. You can check out other people's crafted items at the Flickr swap sight here.

You know you want to.

It's time for another swap! I joined in on another via Free People blog. The theme is travel and the last day to sign up is Monday the 30 th. I encourage anyone who would like to participate to sign up because it is a lot of fun. The last Free People swap I did was for Valentines day. I made an altered book to send out to my fellow swapper. We started a flirckr group to post pictures of all our creations and had a great time commenting on each others items and getting to know everyone. Don't miss it out on this fun opportunity to be creative and get something creative back!
