Reupholstry

There was once a time that I thought I could really get into reupholstering furniture. I've did one chair many many years ago when working for a drapery sewing room. It was such please to see how much the chair changed from once I started to how it was when finished.
Spruce Home has been a favorite of mine on Etsy for quite a long time. I'm so amazed and how gorgeous each and every furniture piece ends up. Wouldn't it be fantastic to own one of their furniture pieces!?

Etsy... another year older

another year better! We were so happy to help celebrate this milestone and hope to have many more to come.

With this we had a crafting theme cake decorate with fondant buttons and glue gun, made by Jennifer from Carefree Patisserie (my wonderful employer!).

What the progress we've seen throughout the years of Etsy's growth, I've been apart of the selling scene there for 2 1/2 years now and have seen it grow so much! A thank you again to Etsy, Happy Birthday!

Also thank you to my brother Dave for taking pictures, Carefree Patisserie for making the cake and Erin for letting us invade her apartment, and all the gals that came and helped up make the party a great evening!

Let's get crafting

In honor of Etsy's birthday we're celebrating worldwide by having a CRAFT PARTY! It will be a night of crafting mayhem, burnt fingers from hot glue guns, paper-cuts, pin pricks, X-Acto knife gouges... all injuries we will be nursing the day after. OH WHAT FUN IT WILL BE THOUGH!

So we hope that many of you will join us with your CRAFT PARTY and celebrate too...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETSY!!!!!

Thank you for being the wonderful website we can create and sell our handmade's... without you so many of our dreams would not be made possible.

Paper Wreath Class

It might have been an evening of many hot glue gun burns but it was also a great evening of creating. It was great fun showing all the ladies that joined us for an evening of using things you have already and making something lovely out of them. I will post pictures that I took of the class on my flickr.

I have found this is quite a popular holiday decor this year in many places such as Etsy, even Apartment Therapy had a little article on the D.I.Y decor!

Here are some of the wreaths on Etsy that have inspired me.

A night of Printing

Sarah and I worked like mad last night to finish up another batch of binders now available in 1"round rings, instead of our past size of 1 1/2" D-Ring. We are really excited about this smaller size, thinking it might be a little bit more versatile for users out there.

The binders will be available for purchase at the up coming 80-35 Music Festival on Saturday July 4th. We will be vending outside of the music grounds so anyone may come and see us without having a ticket to get in. Booth hours are 11 to 5 so come on over and say "Hi!" to me and my guest , Sarah will be out of town.

We also will have the new sizes up for sale on our Etsy site so you may order them if you are unable to stop over and see us.

Faux Bois Front Page

Last Saturday Night I was spending a late night surfing the net and taking care of business and happen to just stop by Etsy to see what was showing, on the front page. To my surprise... there was my t-shirt right there front and center! How exciting!
Get your very own Faux Bois (wood grain) t-shirt here.

What a better birthday present than being featured on the front page of Etsy! It was such a lovely surprise to open up Etsy and see my sister's face right there wearing my lovely neckwarmer.

T-Shirts Are here!

This is old news to every other website I write on but I thought I better keep up with them all. Finally, I finished my screen and improved my printing techniques well enough to produce my first round of Layered Cake T-shirts!

It took many practice rounds before I committed to my t-shirts.

It didn't turn out very well. I was very upset, thinking my screen was not exposed long enough and that the emulsion was keeping the ink from coming through in areas.

Then after about 6 tries or more and some screen needle poking I thought i would give it a shot with black ink. TA DA! It worked! David forgot to mention to me when I was purchasing ink that pearlescent does not work well. My pink ink is pearlescent! That was all my problems the entire time! So after much deliberation I decided to just print in black on this run. So there you have it!

Please go ahead and purchase your very own Cake t-shirts at my etsy to help fund my trip to Felt Club in November. :) I only have one size of each right now so get it quite before it is sold out!

I am hoping to get them made this weekend on my weekend off!

Craft Saturday

Finally, I was able to attend a Craft Saturday. Normally it is scheduled for a Saturday that I have to work so it never works out that I am able to peruse the crafter's tables of wares and be tempted to spend all my money. It was great seeing all the adorable little items and as always really enjoyed seeing Jade Scott who I admit is my main reason for going. Love her jewelry! And she is such a sweat heart as well. So here is a shout out to Jade. It was great chatting with you and getting to see all your beautiful jewels in real life again. If any of you are curious go check her stuff out here at her etsy sight or you may catch some great etsy recommendations read her blog here.

Neck Warmer

This winter the new style of scarf that has been continually on and off my knitting needles is this short mini-scarf that I have labeled as a Neck Warmer. I can't tell you how many I have made but it's been probably close to 20. I am surprised that I am not tired of knitting this new pattern yet. Anyway, if you feel the need to have one yourself go check out my etsy account. There are two styles, one with a button and one without. Don't worry guys, if you're digging it to it's uni-sex. It's not just for girls.

Falling in love with Etsy...

is a terrible thing. Well, not really terrible because it is so wonderful all the amazing things you can find. But, it is terrible on the wallet because I should not be purchasing these items I don't need. I've really only purchased two items so far and still waiting for them to come in the mail. Everyday I come home from work I check the mail thinking today might be the day.

These are some amazing items and sellers I have found in my wondering through people's favorites.

Jade Scott -who I met at Craft Saturday before I ever new her on Etsy.
